Working Alot

So after working from home for my finance job for almost two months, I added a second job so that we could have a chance to do more than tread water financially. Getting out of bed yesterday morning @ 6 was one of the most difficult things I have had to do in a long time. It is so cold and dark!
However, really my problem now is going to be finding time to meet all of my committments. I am still leading a small group for high school boys, participating in a small group with my friends, helping on the weekend directing at church, staining furniture for the nursery, doing video work and all kinds of stuff.
So what am I saying? I guess I am just tired and sitting here in a training that I am required to be at and I would rather be doing anything else.

Yesterday

No this is not a post about the Beatles song, although I have been learning some interesting Beatles stuff since I have been working on my giant music project that I will describe when it is done.

Yesterday Erin and I had the day off and we worked on house stuff. Now that might not sound so bad, but I put on two coats of stain on the dresser and the desk that I am refinishing. The dresser is turning out pretty good, I will have some before and after pictures so that you all can see the results.

Now normally, I just like to do one project at a time and then use the down time to play some video games or something. Well not yesterday. We have a new computer on the way, courtesy of a swapping deal with Nate & Erica so in an effort to make room for the G5 I tore apart my office (which is actually now shared with Erin) to rewire everything from the ground up and to reorganize papers. So far so good. I think it has turned out pretty well but it is a work in progress. I have only maxed out one of my four power strips...

What to do Today

So the last two days while I have been working I have been doing some major defragmenting of my various hard drives. It was pretty bad especially on my main internal laptop drive. Now I know some of you out there may say "I don't need to defragment a drive because I have a Mac." well that may feel true because you don't need to do it as much, it is still something that should be done. I looked and looked and finally came across a great software called iDefrag. It worked great and was very thorough. There are several different options as far as its defragmenting algorithm so give it a shot and try out their demo.
But really, I have a variety of things that are on my list today. I need to spray our weeds at least in the front yard, return some movies to Blockbuster, price out a replacement section of hose for our pool vacuum, apply another coat of stain on the dresser that I am refinishing for the nursery, and direct the weekend service at church.
Of those three really the last one is the only one I want to do but such is life and responsibility, especially when your wife is pregnant and cannot do anything that has smells. Maybe I will post later and give an update on how everything went.

Music:Listening

Here is a screen shot of some of the music that I have listened to in the last 24 hours. I am part of Last.fm and have the application that captures what you listen to on your iPod and iTunes. There has to be some way for it to show it like an RSS feed but for now I am just going to put a picture.



Feel free to mock me. I will defend myself by saying that as I compile the list of every song that has ever been #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, there are some pretty stupid songs. However, nothing says shuffle like having Bette Midler singing "Wind Beneath My Wings" followed up by "Check Up On It" by Beyonce ft Slim Thug. Yeah it has happened.
For those of you keeping track, I am about halfway through getting all of the correct album art. It is a very tedious process since I am including the cover from the album and also from the single.

At Long Last

So finally after all this time I am going to bring my college videos to those of you who want to see them. Some of you may wonder why of has taken so long and to be honest mostly it was die to not having an 8mm camera with FireWire output. But really a lot if it was lack of motivation.
Now that we have a baby on the way it has become time to clean stuff put and that for me means at least consolidating three shoe boxes of 8mm and mini dv tapes into hopefully a half a stack of DVDs.
What does this mean you can look forward to? Well without looking at the label the first tape involves milk, food coloring and puking. I will leave it up to you to get excited about that or not, but you should.

New year

About five or six years ago apple came out with a product called the iPod. It played some music and it was cool and I really wanted one.
Here we are in 2009 a bunch of years later and I finally am the proud owner of a 32gb iPod touch. In fact I am writing this post from my iPod how sweet is that?
There are so many cool apps that I have been looking at that I really hardly know what to do with myself. Ate there any of you that have an iPod touch or iPhone with some killer app you couldn't love without? Tell me about them and I will start posting about the ones I find. For those of you who didn't know yet...

We are totally going to have a baby in July...

There it is out there...we don't know what we are having yet but we will find out probably in February or something...

It pretty much totally freaks me out but is exciting at the same time for a whole host of reasons. I would like to throw out there that if it is a boy I am pulling for a middle name of Danger. Erin pretty much hates that idea but maybe if everyone in the world leaves comments that it is awesome she could relent and our kid could have the coolest middle name ever.

Anyway, there will be more updates as things progress and I am sure that I will start posting all kinds of pictures and media. I think that part of my problem with regularly posting is that I have no consistent schedule. Maybe having a kid with needs like going to bed at a certain time will change that and I will post regularly. Time will tell I guess...
